How does an Epik differ from other companies?
For starters, we don't put our hands in too many baskets at once. We don't sell speakers. We sell subwoofers. We specialize in them. That way we can offer the best possible subwoofer to go along with the audio equipment you already have.
We engineer high-end subwoofers that provide the greatest output possible at the highest level of sound quality. And we do so without charging customers high-end prices.
While other companies are selling speakers and full systems, we are perfecting our subwoofers specifically. It's obvious when you hear our subwoofers, that they surpass the performance and extension of others on the market at a given price-point.
We also don't market ourselves like other companies do. We focus on what's important. That is, our product.
Similarly, we aren't out to compete with 'the other guys'. We don't check the forums everyday or pay for reviews of our products.
We at Epik want to improve upon our own products everyday and make ourselves better; not 'better than the other guy'. If we just worried about our competitors, our products would only perform as well as everybody else's. We want them to continue to be even better. We push the envelope of performance to its limits.

What's the best placement for my subwoofer?
Placement of a subwoofer is probably the most important part of setting it up. Do not be afraid to experiment with placement. Even facing it another direction can greatly affect the performance in your room. A different location may yield a massive increase in low frequency performance or eliminate cancellation in regards to where you are sitting in your room.
Placing a subwoofer near a boundary will help load the sound more effectively into most rooms. The corner of the room is almost always the most ideal place to place your subwoofer. The second best place is generally along a wall.
Some people like to place them near where they are sitting, but avoid the center of the room because it often results in a lack of room reinforcement.
A great trick for locating a "sweet spot" is to set your subwoofer right where you will be sitting when you use it. Pick a music or movie track with heavy bass, or set a bass-heavy passage on repeat. While playing the track, make your way around the room with your head down low where you are thinking about placing the subwoofer. When you find a spot where the bass sounds powerful and clean, that's where you should place your subwoofer. When you return to your listening position the bass will sound the same as when it was flip-flopped.
Above all, don't be afraid to experiment. Taking time to find optimum placement can and will pay great dividends in the performance in your room.

Does the size of my room really matter, when picking out the best subwoofer?
All too often, this question makes it seem like there is a magic number to get enough bass quantity for a room, but gives little to no thought in regard to quality. More capable subwoofers tend to sound better than those that can just barely achieve your required output goals.
That being said, we generally do not recommend subwoofers based on room size. Beyond that, customers all have different expectations and listen at different output levels. Some customers have enormous rooms and are happy with our smallest products while others have smaller rooms and use multiples of our higher performing subwoofers.
As a general rule, larger rooms are harder to fill with low bass. There's no such thing as too much output when it comes to picking out a subwoofer. But, it is possible to have too little. Not a single Epik customer has ever called us and told us that they have too much bass. So, the standard rule of thumb is to get the most bass you can.

Do you sell any finishes other than black?
We offer a matte black laminate finish at this time. Demand for our product is so great that we must first meet these needs before proceeding to build veneered product. We will sell other finishes in the future at a slightly greater cost than our black finish, but not at this time.

Do you sell your components separately or do custom builds?
We sell our products as described and not as separate components or unfinished in anyway. Also, it is not cost effective for us to do custom builds at this time.

Does the subwoofer come with an Owner's Manual?
We would love to have an owner's manual for each of our products, but do not at this time. Instead, we are developing electronic manuals to have available 24/7 on our website. In the meantime, please call us if you have questions regarding the setup or warranty of your subwoofer. We're happy to walk you through it.

Do you have dealers or a show room?
Our products are only sold exclusively online. By not having dealers we are able to offer better products at better prices because there is no middleman.
We do not have a show room, store front or listening room. We are not equipped to give tours of our facilities or auditions. We work day and night to get product to our customers as quickly as possible. Having either above-mentioned thing would unfortunately result in higher prices.

Do you sell worldwide?
At this time, we sell to the 50 US states and to Europe.
If you reside in Hawaii or Alaska, we will have to obtain a custom shipping quote for your order. It will be emailed to you within 24 business hours and we will require you to update your payment information in order to charge the shipping for your order.
If you reside in Europe, please visit our European dealer's website. That is L-Sound at http://eu.lsound.no/
L-Sound provides Epik products that run on 220-240V and meet all European specifications. L-Sounds standard return and warranty policies apply on all L-Sound Epik products.
For all others who reside outside the 50 US states and Europe, we do not currently ship to you.
The reason for this is that we can't support or guarantee warranty for product in another country or continent. If a component in your subwoofer needs to be replaced, it may cost more to ship it to you than the subwoofer itself costs. We hope to change this as soon as possible, but we're afraid, it will still be quite some time before we ship elsewhere.
If you reside outside the US and would like to void the warranty and set up your own freight, insured shipment for an Epik product you may do so. Simply select Money Order (US Dollars) as your form of payment. Additionally, use a US freight forwarding address as your billing and shipping address when placing your order. We will contact you by email when we've received payment and your order is complete, so you can schedule pickup.
Again, we hope to ship elsewhere soon, but we're afraid, it will still be quite some time before we ship elsewhere.
